What I Learned from my Father

I have met people from all walks of life some who are good, some who pretend to be good (but are obviously not), some who hide behind religion and think they are good but there actions don’t show it and lastly those who are terrible and don’t even try to hide that fact that they are, except for one.

My Father is not a religious fanatic, hardly ever goes church but he has a white heart. So down to earth, a cheerful giver, helps anyone and everyone whenever he can.

He never wants to make others feel that they are not good enough. To him everyone is equal and everyone deserves a second chance. It’s amazing how he chooses to see the good in people and it almost seems naive how he trusts easy but that is what makes him great.

Don’t get it twisted though, am not saying that he is perfect, no one is, but to me that’s the definition of a perfect person. It’s so surreal every time I walk with him and he greets everyone we meet with a smile, he even strikes conversations with strangers some of whom give him the “I don’t know you old man” look but that has never stopped him.

He always tells me that he would never do a mistake knowingly and I only hope that I took some of those humble genes.

I honestly wouldn’t ask for more, and no amount of money can buy what he has instilled in me.
He has taught me how to be human, to stay humble, and give back to the society and I want to be like him;treat everyone right, have enough for me, my family and also provide to those who lack.

I hope that he lives long enough for me to show him how much I appreciate him. What have you learnt from your parents?? Feel free to share and comment.
