If You did all you could, Stop beating yourself up.

Sometimes things don’t always turn out the way we expect them to even when you did everything right.

You sit for an easy exam and you still fail, you tend to your sick relative and they still die, you care so much about someone but they still don’t love you. You do your best at work but you don’t get that promotion. What do you do?

It’s easy to take a victim mentality during such times, or blame yourself. I have been there before, failed this job test that was so important to me. Honestly I felt bad, worn out and didn’t feel like trying again incase such an opportunity presented itself. For a few days all I could think about was that I should have been better or put in more effort.

Just before I drowned myself in self-pity, I remembered that I did my best. I practiced enough. It wasn’t good enough according to them but that was my best and if I had to do it again, I wouldn’t do it differently.

Do everything to the best of your ability, read hard, love hard, work hard that way you won’t regret if things don’t turn out the way you expected them to. You will remember the blood and sweat you put into it, but don’t give yourself a chance to regret or feel worthless.

Honestly you couldn’t have done it better, you couldn’t have worked any harder, and you couldn’t have been a better partner.

I don’t regret failing my job test, nor do i feel bad about it because I gave it my all.

So before you feel bad, worthless or think that you have bad luck .Ask yourself this: Did you do your best to save the situation? If yes, then there is nothing more you could have done, you are not superman or God. It was out of your control. Don’t beat yourself up.
